Are you worried there may be a problem with the driveline in your diesel vehicle? Has your diesel truck begun to make unusual noises when the ignition starts? Does there appear to be a greater amount of vibration than usual while the engine is running? If you answered yes to any of these questions, chances are you may have a problem in your diesel vehicle’s driveline.
DieselWest Mechanical Services in Bayswater offer a Perth-based mobile diesel mechanic service. Our experienced team of mechanics are able to help if you notice any of the following issues occurring in your diesel vehicle.

What is a driveline?
The driveline located underneath your vehicle is only visible if you crawl underneath the truck. It doesn’t look very impressive; however, without a working driveline your truck will not move. If there is a problem with the driveline in a heavy vehicle, the axles cannot turn the wheels, so your truck won’t be going anywhere.

Common signs your truck’s driveline is failing
  • Intense Vibration: if you notice intense vibrations coming from beneath your diesel vehicle, there is likely to be a problem with a driveshaft. These driveline components are balanced before installation to ensure they don’t vibrate. If there is an excessive amount of vibration occurring when you start the truck’s ignition, you should seek advice from your local Perth diesel mechanic. If left unattended, the vibrations can be felt by passengers and cause damage to other components in the driveline.
  • Rattling or scraping noises: abnormal sounds occurring underneath your diesel vehicle when the engine starts up could indicate an issue within the driveline. These noises can be caused by the components becoming misaligned in the driveshaft, or simply wearing down over time and affecting the driveshaft’s ability to rotate correctly. As the driveline is located beneath the diesel truck, it can be difficult to find without the assistance of a qualified Perth diesel mechanic.
