Diesel Fuel system cleanliness- Is it important?

20/11/2018

Comments

Maintaining your diesel fuel systems cleanliness is very important to keep your diesel engine running and continuing its fuel efficiency. Whether you own a modern diesel car or 4wd, Diesel truck or heavy earth-moving equipment with a diesel engine they all need the same thing, preventative maintenance. This will ensure your diesel fuel system is operating, as it should.

Avoid use of dodgy fuel containers as these can have algae growth especially if left sitting around for long periods. Keeping dirt & moisture out of the fuel tank will reduce the likelihood of it making its way through to the fuel filters and primary supply pump.

Keeping it clean andfree of these various contaminants will aid in your fuel pump and injectors lasting longer as these can be costly when repairs are required. Other signs of these being an issue in your fuel system is your engine stalling, running rough, has no power or won’t start.
